Focus, concentration and a stone for loneliness in winter (or all year round)
Although we’re most familiar with the black form of obsidian, there are actually a number of different colours of obsidian available. Snowflake obsidian is a form of obsidian which looks like it has little “snowflakes” in it. These are formed by bits of the mineral cristobalite. Unsurprisingly, it’s a favourite stone for winter.
I find snowflake obsidian a great stone for concentration and focus, as well as meditation. I’ve been known to give it to students to help them with their studies!
Like pure snow, it’s a stone which encourages us to release the mental impurities of unhelpful thinking and attachments. It can help us to feel more calm and in particular to cool anger and resentment.
It’s also known as a stone which can help with loneliness – helping us move from loneliness and isolation to solitude and surrender.
Like regular obsidian, the way that it might help you to release that unhelpful stuff is by bringing it up to the surface to be released – so that’s something to be ready for. Also like regular obsidian, it is a stone of grounding and protection, absorbing negativity. This means it’s important to cleanse and charge it regularly if you’re using it!

Probably the most important life skill that we will ever learn (or not) is how to get along with other people. It is a skill that can set us up for life or ensure that we are absolutely miserable.
And yet it’s not something that many of us ever spend time learning how to do.
Even if you do some communications courses or active listening studies, most of us don’t spend a lot of time learning how to navigate interpersonal conflicts. Which is a pity, because it’s unlikely that we’ll get to live a rich and full life without ever disagreeing with someone.
How do we nurture our relationships – family, friends, romance?
How do we navigate conflict without walking all over people, getting walked all over, or simply running away from it altogether?
As always, I don’t have a clue about the answers, but I know we’ll learn a lot by leaning into the questions.
Come join the circle this month and we’ll dive deep into how we get along (or don’t) and how we can show up for our relationships in a more intentional, aligned way.

CANCELLATION POLICY – If you let me know up to one hour prior to the beginning of the circle that you’re not able to attend, you can choose to either a) be refunded the price of your ticket; or b) to have your ticket transferred to a future circle of your choosing. If you get in touch and let me know that something came up that meant you were unable to attend circle within 24 hours, I will be happy to transfer your ticket to a future circle of your choosing. You can only transfer your ticket once.
