Amethyst Crystal Library - Orthoceras

Ancient grounding support

If you've come to an in person crystal healing or reiki session with me in Chatswood, chances are you've seen me with one of these little pieces of awesomeness.

The picture shows an orthoceras. It's a fossil of an extinct species of underwater mollusc (a nautiloid cephalopod if you're interested in the scientific term). There were over 2,500 different types of these over a long period of time, so fossils of them are quite common. They were around during the Ordovician bit of the Paleozoic Era, which spanned 41.6 million years from around 484 million years ago. Such numbers boggle the mind.

 So these things are ANCIENT.

In crystal healing, I will usually finish an in person session by running one of these up and down your spine to help you to ground and integrate the energies of the session in an embodied, earthbound kind of way. I might use them in a reiki session under your feet to help you stay grounded during the session too.

 And they are incredibly cool.
